The Rioja region of northern Spain has a long history of winemaking and its Gran Reserva is the most distinguished style. Typically it can only be made in outstanding vintages. Winemaker Cesar Fernández selects the finest Tempranillo for this special, complex red wine. He ages the wine first for 24 months in seasoned American oak barrels, he then ages the wine in bottle for a further 3 years to produce a silky red with flavours of fresh red berries, dried raisins and spicy notes.
A mature, aromatic, rich red wine with flavours of toasted coconut, red berry compote, leather and spice.
